Dr. Emily Knudsen, MD
Dr. Emily Knudsen was inspired to enter the medical field from a young age, when her grandmother unfortunately passed away due to cancer. She realized that the diagnosis may have happened much sooner if her grandmother had felt comfortable with the doctor and decided then to become the kind of primary care doctor that patients can trust to talk about anything that might be happening in their lives. Dr. Knudsen earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Yale University, before attending medical school at the University of Virginia, where she also obtained her master’s in Public Health. She completed her residency at the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho where she received broad spectrum family medicine training geared toward rural practice. She loves being able to care for people of all ages, from children to the elderly. She has a special interest in women’s health including birth control, menstrual problems, diagnosis and treatment of cervical precancer, and sexual health. Dr. Knudsen continues to be inspired and energized by helping patients enact positive changes in their lives. When she’s not working, she enjoys playing the violin, hiking, cross-country skiing, reading, and bringing her son Cyrus along on adventures.
